Florida School of Addictions Studies (FSAS) is not a
conference. We are a professional school providing classroom instruction, specializing in addictions
and related problems.
If you work or volunteer in the addictions field and care about
making a difference in the lives of your clients and their families, the FSAS
is the professional school for you.
IMMEDIATE RESULTS THERAPY: REALLY?, taught by Dr. Jason Quintal, PhD, LCSW, is an innovative approach
to recovery using a unique clinical framework that incorporates NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
and other techniques to offer rapid results to clients, particularly those suffering from PTSD, trauma or addictions.
Participants will observe examples of how this therapy
is used to treat single or co-occuring conditions. Saturday - Sunday 12:00 - 5:00PM.
RX DRUGS, RECOVERY AND RELAPSE PREVENTION, taught by Jim Knorp, MSW, CAP, provides a better
understanding of the symptoms and progression of opiate dependence. Participants will
gain knowledge of the relapse warning signs and interventions for treatment. They will also have
working definitions of recovery and relapse and sobriety (interactive). Saturday 12:00 - 5:00PM.
12 STEPS: THE SEQUEL, taught by Dr. Wendy Coughlin, PhD, LMHC, CAP, provides a framework to identify the characteristics of emotional sobriety and
to reframe the familiar 12 steps as learning tools for enhanced recovery. The course challenges the
definition of recovery to include maximizing health and wellness. Sunday 12:00 - 5:00PM.
